Daniel was born in the Lowlands into a farming community, however he was not to follow in the farming tradition but instead, from a very young age his interest was art.

After various jobs in the Art business, Daniel retired from working due to an accident and has since devoted his full time to painting. He has dilligently researched the traditional painting styles of the old masters and his approach to landscape in composition and technique is very similar to the Victorian era. He regards himself as a traditionalist and in his own words..."I am not a follower of fashion as fashion comes and goes but nature never changes".
