Our Story‘Polychromatic,’ meaning ‘Many Coloured,’ celebrates artists who work with bold colours, vibrant palettes, and create art that makes you take notice.
Polychromatic exhibition is a display of vibrant, impactful art. This exhibition runs from Saturday the 18th of July to Saturday the 5th of September.
Throughout the history of art, colours have often been used in symbolic ways, often to express inner emotions or psychological states, or to signify the divine or royalty. Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night uses saturated yellows and deep blues to convey turbulence and hope, while Henri Matisse’s The Red Studio transforms a room into a dreamlike, emotional environment through a single bold red.
Artists often use bold palettes to break from realism, allowing colour itself to become the narrative or emotional force in the artwork.
