Hayley Matthews - 'Believe'

Hayley is a Scottish, self-taught landscape artist working from her home studio in Kirkcaldy.  

Hayley started painting with acrylics during the Covid lockdown, primarily to ease her anxiety whilst her business was closed. Since then, she has created over 250 paintings; many of which were commissioned pieces. She has sold artwork in several galleries throughout Scotland. In March 2023, Hayley transitioned to becoming a full-time artist.    

As a relatively new artist Hayley likes to experiment with different art styles and techniques, ranging from dynamic, colourful landscapes to ethereal, atmospheric, dramatic forest scenes. 

Hayley recently hosted her first solo exhibition titled, ‘Believe,’ which was a huge success. The exhibition demonstrated her growth in a relatively short time. Hayley states that "[...] the positive response to her artwork was overwhelming."Being able to create and develop her style is what Hayley loves to do and she is touched by the reaction and impact her artwork has on others.
