Helen Butler - 'Sunny Afternoons on Lunga, Argyll'

Helen Butler lives in Lochgilphead, Argyll, on the West Coast of Scotland. Her art journey began in 2018 while recovering from major brain surgery to help control epileptic seizures. She started painting to help recover from the post trauma of the surgery process. She has since been telling the story of her recovery through her art. 

More recently Helen has been working more on the wild waves and rugged coastline scenes. She gets her inspiration from the beautiful scenery around Argyll. She also enjoys painting seabirds and wildlife.

Helen works with a variety of mediums, including watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, pastel and pyrography on wood.
