Kathryn Arthur is a Scottish artist working primarily in oil paint, specialising in intimate figurative portraiture. Her practice focuses on representations of women in moments of vulnerability, introspection, and leisure. Her portraits often capture quiet, personal states—rendered with a refined sensitivity to light, expression, and presence.

Kathryn has developed her practice through a non-traditional but rigorous route. Rather than attending formal art school, she trained directly under a more established artist as an apprentice.
