Carol Binnie - 'Still Life with Borders, Landscape'

Carol was born in the Scottish Borders. She has a MA in Fine Art from Edinburgh University. Carol went on to be both Principal teacher of Art and Design and Curriculum Leader of Expressive Arts at the Royal High School in Edinburgh.

She has exhibited in the Scottish Borders, Morayshire, the Lake District, the Campsie Fells and Edinburgh, including the RSW and RSA Open Exhibitions. She has frequently exhibited with her father, Andrew Binnie

Still life is one of Carol's main subjects, and she demonstrates a mastery of the difficult medium of watercolour, often using gouache to achieve a rich contrast to her flower studies. Carol has been inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper and the Vanitas paintings of the Dutch Golden Age.
