Born in Alicante, Spain, Javier Mulio was brought up with the artistic community of Alcoy and this influence encouraged him to take up painting at the age of fourteen.

At the age of eighteen he began his formal training in art and studied under the Spanish artist and teacher Mila Gomez in Alcoy from 1973 to 1976. Mulio has a hyper-realistic style of painting; still life compositions of glass, fruit and liquid with exquisite lighting in uncomplicated surroundings.

Mulio's paintings reflect a timeless serenity and are always carefully balanced in colour, shape and texture.
