Qianyi Zhu is an abstract artist based in Glasgow, working primarily with painting, etching, and mixed media works on paper. She graduated from the MLitt Fine Art Practice programme at the Glasgow School of Art.

Her practice explores memory as a fluid and evolving experience, often drawing on recurring impressions of natural and peripheral landscapes such as trees, grasses, rivers, and fields. Rather than depicting these places directly, she approaches them as shifting emotional states.

Through repetition, layering, and tactile mark-making, Qianyi’s work reflects a quiet attention to process and material. Her work invites viewers to slow down and engage with subtle shifts in colour, rhythm, and surface.
