Self-taught Scottish artist Jimmy is a Govan lad. He is now retired from the oil and gas industry, having worked for 35 years on and offshore and sometimes overseas. Based in Paisley where he has lived all his life, Jimmy is now more than happy to devote his time between painting and music. With no formal training, he paints in various mediums and explores the alternatives when it comes to painting style.
He has recently been exploring the art of Japanese watercolour ink which is a very precise and stylised process, he also works in acrylic and oils. Jimmy plays several instruments and has a particular love of the bagpipes.
