Born in Hamilton 1944, Andy graduated from Glasgow School of Art in Jewellery and Silversmithing. He decided to devote his time to painting and for the past decade has worked full time as an artist. His favourite subjects of Landscapes and Still Life are mainly inspired from the surrounding countryside of his home in South Lanarkshire and his frequent visits to France.
Andy is more interested in creating an atmosphere rather than a photographic image and this can be felt in either the dreich Scottish weather or in sunlit paintings of Provence. His work has been accepted for the RSW, RGI and SSA and can be found in many significant public and private collections
